“What a fabulous trip! I had no idea when I signed up what the trip was all about, I just heard wine and Italy with some great friends and I was in.

Where do I start! Horse riding through the Tuscan hills and vineyards was breathtaking, along with the truffle hunting, pasta making and various other cooking classes, an unexpected bonus was learning about the agriculture methods in the region which are fascinating.

We toured many stunning old estates, the wonderfully proud hosts each inviting us into their homes as is we were family. Everyone was extremely hospitable and generous.

Of course all this came with very healthy quantities of fantastic organic and locally produced wines, each with a unique history and interesting story, and the wonderful villas and vineyards we were able to try them all in only added to the experience.

The food was excellent, the local methods were simple yet stunning. The tour of the food market in Florence with Matteo being a particular highlight, as well as the famous Chianina beef served over the coals by chef Vittorio.

The trip was unique because we were lucky enough to get to places you would never ordinarily see as a tourist. In most of the places we visited we were the only people there being hosted by the passionate owners, which was very special.

Thanks to Carli and Franco, who are wonderful hosts and worked tirelessly ensuring everyone had everything they needed. Faye and her team were also incredibly dedicated and professional. A superb experience although the waistline is a little tight!”

When we initially booked with Franco & Carli, Mark and I had no idea we would be newlyweds by the time we took the trip, but it made it that much sweeter.
